Private or Semi-Private Instruction

We offer private lessons to meet a variety of needs. If you have privacy needs or special circumstances instruction can be arranged at the Dojo during off hours or in Sensei's private Dojo in Glocester, RI. Private lessons are a great way to receive customized training.

Sometimes it's good to have a couple of friends get together for a session. This allows you to have practice partners during your class or gives a group of people a chance to learn something special together. For instance, a mother and daughter may want to learn self-defense together, or three or four friends may want to get together to learn sword or some other specialty. A teen heading off to college may benefit from some self-defense training.

If you are not sure what you are looking for just give us a call and we can help you determine if private lessons are the right choice for you.

We also can develop customized training for employees or others with unique needs:

  • Realtors, nurses, social workers who meet strangers in remote area's
  • A teen heading off to college
  • Security Officers
  • Celebrities
  • Bodyguards

For Current Students

Private lessons may be helpful if you are preparing for advancement, have been out for a while, or simply want to learn something that may not be part of your regular classes. You could learn weapons, kata, ukemi or Motobu Udundi techniques. Some students focus on improving kata, bunkai, kicks, problem solving or anything else of interest.

Some attend a private lesson once in a while; others have regularly scheduled lessons on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. One thing has been apparent- those who attend private lessons regularly noticeably advance in technique and understanding.

For more information speak to Kimberly (she teaches most of the private lessons). Sensei usually does not teach private lessons but may in certain situations. Motobu Udundi, sword, kama, and other specialties are taught by Sensei.
