Okinawa- Mecca of Martial Arts

Okinawa is a tiny island in the South China Sea.
About one third the size of Rhode Island, it was an independent nation for centuries, known as the Ryukyu Kingdom.

Karate and Motobu Udundi were created by the Okinawan people by blending and adapting various fighting methods from China and Japan. Karate, in the last century, has become a household word around the world. Motobu Udundi, the unique art of the royal family, is little known beyond the shores of the island.

While many American karate teachers visit Okinawa as tourists, they are often isolated and on the outside looking in. The Kodokai, however, is well respected on Okinawa. We have enjoyed unique access to some of the finest teachers in the world and have trained in many different Dojo's.

When you join the Kodokai you benefit from thirty years of bridge-building.
