If you've been looking around you've, no doubt, come across slick web sites with photos of models showing amazing abs and perfect bodies. Well, the pictures on our website are from our our own visits to Japan and they are of our own students. No models, just reality.

Rather than offering the stock photo of someone posing with boxing gloves after skipping breakfast and lunch, we'll just tell you about what you might expect.  

Many of our students see substantial weight loss (yes, you can lose ninety or so pounds in our classes, and you won't be the first). Other common benefits are increased strength and toning of muscles, improved posture, lower blood pressure, reduced reliance on medications, better balance and agility, and the confidence that comes with feeling fit.





You don't have to be in shape to get started and you will begin at a pace that suits you. We will encourage you to work at a level that is appropriate for your abilities. There is no pressure to keep up with anyone and our environment is entirely supportive. We all want to succeed and see each other do well!
 
Palace Hand is not standardized like other martial arts making it is easy for us to help you work around old injuries and to help you find ways to make the practice work for you.

Don't worry about getting started or being nervous, it's fun! And we will patiently show you all you need to know.



Typical classes include a warmup with relaxation and flexibility exercises, an invigorating and popular medicine ball workout, followed by a period of cardio training with kicks and punches. Self-defense drills comprise the rest of the class. Every class begins and ends with a brief meditation.

There is no competition, no pressure. Our objective is to help you succeed in both the short term and long term. And don't worry about being too old- many of our students begin in their forties, fifties and even sixties. And some of our classes are less demanding than others so we are happy to advise you so you can get off to an appropriate start.
